The Chargers are quickly learning the importance of keeping up in a city like Los Angeles.
One day after the Rams formally announced Wade Phillips as their new defensive coordinator, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Friday that Gus Bradley is on his way to L.A. to run the Chargers defense:

Bradley, who coached the Jaguars for four seasons, was fired last December after a disappointing 2-12 record in 2016. Though he finished 14-48 in Jacksonville, the Jags ended this past season No. 5 in pass defense and No. 6 in total defense.
Prior to Jacksonville, Bradley spent four seasons as defensive coordinator of the Seahawks. In 2012, Seattle led the NFL in points allowed (15.3) and ranked among the top ten in rush and pass defense.
Bradley will take over a Chargers defensive unit with playmakers on all three levels, led by second-year defensive end Joey Bosa. Despite appearing in just 12 games, Bosa finished 2016 with 10.5 sacks and was named Defensive Rookie of the Year by the Pro Football Writers of America (PFWA).
The Chargers were No. 29 in points allowed (26.4) and No. 16 in total defense in 2016.
